Stargrave & French & Indian War

It's been a long time since I've posted up anything. I didn't forget to post up painted stuff, I just haven't really painted anything. So this will be my first post in over 6 months. I've got two sets of figures completed. First up is a small assortment of Stargrave figures. These 28mm metal figs are from North Star Military Figures.

From left to right they are a Rogue, Mystic, Mystic and Psionicist.

Next up is a box of French Compagnie de la Marines for French & Indian War. These 28mm metal figs are from Warlord Games.

On my table now is the last of my French & Indian War box sets, the British Regulars.

A little while ago I picked up this pair of books from Karwansaray Publishers (the guys who do Wargames Soldier & Strategy) for the Japanese Sengoku period.
If you plan on painting armies for this period, I would highly recommend getting these books before any others.

Stargrave/Frostgrave Assortment

Finished these last week and forgot to post them up! First up is a metal Stargrave Mystic from North Star Military Figures.

Next up is the last of the plastic Frostgrave Gnolls, also from North Star.

And finally is a large set of Stargrave objective tokens. I believe Terry printed these out for me, I can't remember actually. The ones in the last pic are metal and I believe they came from the Stargrave Nickstarter. Stargrave Medic for size comparison.

I've got another set of figs already completed and I'll post them up in the next couple days.

Pair of Stargrave figs and a Bug

Here's the first trio of figs of the new year. We'll start with a pair of Stargrave figs. These 28mm metal figs are from North Star Military Figures. First up is a medic followed by a Hacker.

And finally we have an Ankheg. This is another 28mm plastic fig from Wizkids. I painted it up like the giant red ants I did last year.

As I'm in the Analogue Hobbies Paint Challenge, I'm going to be churning stuff out (hopefully!) for the next few months.

Stargrave Terrain

Finished some terrain bits today. First up is a trio of wood piles. These are not for Stargrave but will find use in a French & Indian War game. These are pieces that Terry printed out for me.
They painted up nice and quick.

Next up is some container/crate bases. These are from Mantic's sci-fi terrain piece sets.
Also from the aforementioned sets are these 'engines'.
And finally is the first completed building from said terrain sets.

This paint scheme was a test run to see if it works, and I think it works pretty good. So I've got another 5 buildings almost done painting, 4 more ready for priming/have they're first coat of paint and another 2 under construction.

Terrain & Monsters

It's been a slow month and I finally got some stuff done. I've got some terrain pieces done and a few creatures for use in Stargrave. First up is the creatures. The figs are all 28mm plastic figs from Wizkids' D&D Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures. First up is the Froghemoth.

This fig is big. I'm planning on using it as a Dedfurd in Stargrave. Maybe. The monster in the rules is Large, but it may be too big. We'll see.

Next up is a pair of Leucrotta. I'll use these as Warp Hounds. Paint job is rather meh.

On to terrain. First up is a Games Workshop Shrine of the Aquila.

My rust turned out very bright and I got out of control with it. There's a lot of crap on this building as expected from a GW piece, so it was a bit of a slog to paint.

Last up is a pair of rubbish piles that Terry had printed up for me.

And again I have the same issues as with the GW terrain piece above. I know there's a lot of rust how-to's online but I did not want to go through some 10 stage rust process for a terrain piece. I'll have to come up with something.

Terrain Pieces

Been a slow month, what with real life, heat, and other stuff. So what I've completed, I've piled into this one post and it's all terrain. First up is group of computer screens/consoles that Terry had 3D printed off for me.

Next up is a pair of guns that Terry had picked up at a garage sale. These will find use in Star Wars Legion. They're a little bigger than the correct scale but perfectly serviceable.

And finally are the pieces that should definitely find use in Stargrave. These are old GW 40K terrain pieces.

I'm starting to mass a decent collection of these. If only I could find more.

On my paint table right now are some more terrain pieces and I've got a pile of the Mantic terrain kits that I need to assemble and paint. I might be able to stick in a figure or two into the queue and it will probably be creatures for use in Stargrave.
