A Pair of Sci-fi Flyers

Last post of the year. Finished up a pair of science fiction flyers. Both of these 28mm resin figs are from Bombshell Miniatures. The first one is a V16 Windrunner Rocket Bike.

The next fig is a Mekkus Strafer from their Mekkus faction.

This fig originally came with the same short clear base as the rocket bike above and I thought it looked really odd basically just hovering nap-of-the-earth style so I made up a new base. This one uses a 60mm wood base, a brass rod and some ancient assorted bits I had lying around. A definite improvement from the short clear disk.

Counterblast Mekkus and a Rabblerouser

My next post for the year is a collection of figures from the Mekkus faction from Bombshell Miniatures Counterblast game. The Mekkus are machines that turned on their creators, wiped them out and decided to try wiping out everyone else in the galaxy. A friendly lot.
First up is the Central Command Unit.

This figure is all metal and is quite a hefty piece.

Next up is a resin Artificer. Artificers are basically repair units.

Next is a pair of metal Defenders. The one on the left has Gamma Disruptors and the other has Particle Blasters.

Next is a group of resin and metal Harvesters. The two on the left have Particle Blasters while the other two carry Gamma Disruptors.

And finally is the Seeker, a stealth scout unit.

And here are all of them together.

And finally here is a Rabblerouser. This is from Warlord Games Fire and Brimstone pack.

'Til next time.

Counterblast Assortment

Finished up some more Counterblast figs. All the figs are from Bombshell Miniatures. First up from the Edofleini faction (Edo for short) is an Edo Undermind.

The next pic (from left to right) is an Underling, a character named Destroys Nulls and a pair of Edokin Eyespies.

Next from the Mekkus faction is a Cyren.

From the Galactic Defense Force (GDF) faction (from left to right) is a GDF Psifer (psychic), a character named Sally Starfield and a GDF Commander.

Also from the GDF is this Heavy Combot.

And finally I've done up some more robots. First up is a pair of HOpR Bots.

And finally is a pair of HLpR Bots and a half dozen MInE Bots. Commander for scale.
Til next time.

French Goumier, Counterblast & Star Wars figs

Just finished a group of World War II 28mm French Goumier. These metal figs are from Artizan Designs. The figs have some mid-late war kit but I don't see why they can't be used for early-war.

Painting the stripes was not fun. I can't see myself painting any more Goumier. I'll stick to basic French infantry.

And now for the second half of my post. These 28mm figs are from Bombshell Miniatures Counterblast pulp sci-fi line. First up is a trio of Bde Bots and a Bz-R Robot.
The next two groups of figs are from the Mekkus faction. The first pic is of a group of Aggressors. The second pic is of a trio of Braindrones.

The next pic is a group of figs from the Edofleini faction. These are Edo Trappers. The pic doesn't really show the colouring of the figs unfortunately. Couldn't have a post without crappy pics!
Here's the lot together:
And finally I have a pic of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker from Star Wars Legion.

Till next time!

Assorted Figures & Games

Been a while since I've posted anything up. I haven't actually done much in the way of painting lately as I've had other things on my mind. Regardless, I finally finished a few figures that have been on my desk for far too long. First up is a set of 5 mechanical spider walkers. These metal figures are from Bombshell Miniatures' Mekkus faction for their Counterblast game. They are called Mekkus Cybots.

Next up is a trio of figures that can be used for Frostgrave. The first two are a Reaper small, metal fire elemental or familiar and a Frostgrave Frostwraith.
Picture is crappy, but they look decent in person.

Next is a Reaper Bones Avatar of Sokar. Not sure why I picked this one up, I think I just wanted to paint it as I like the Egyptian theme.

For board games lately, I've tried a few new ones out. I picked up Agents of Smersh by 8th Summit.
Fun game, not very hard, pretty easy overall. The story aspect of it is pretty interesting and pretty original.

Another one I've played (solo unfortunately) is Guns of Gettysburg by Mercury Games.
I've played one of Simmons' other games: Napoleon's Triumph and I find his boards are a joy to look at. Probably the best looking boards out there, especially for wargames. Excellent high quality components. I'd really like to give this one (or Napoleon's Triumph) another play.

Last weekend, I also got in a game of Mage Knight by Wizkids Games.
I picked this game up for a friend last year at Fallcon. It came with a couple small expansions. We finally got it on to the table and it's a pretty deep game. Not hard, there's just lots you can do. And lots of bits! I look forward to giving this one another try.

Sitting on my paint table right now is some World War II French infantry and a bunch of French vehicles.
