Fantasy figs

Been a while since I've posted. Haven't died, so that's good. Recently managed to finish off some figs. All these figs are 28mm metal figs. This first group is a Games Workshop Chaos Ogre Command set.

Next up is a female monk from Otherworld Miniatures.

Next up is Peruhain, an elf monk from Reaper Miniatures.

And finally is another Reaper Miniatures figure called Hiroku of Okura.

And here's all three together.
Next up on my paint table is a half dozen Counterblast figures.

Carthage, Monsters and Points

Recently I finished off an eclectic group of figs and pieces. First up is a set of 28mm plastic Carthaginian Citizen Infantry from Victrix. Nice simple figures.

You may notice that the commander has a decal on his shield and no one else does. Well, cover your eyes children, this post is about to get R-rated. I had a nice set of decals for them. They were a set that was designed specifically for this set of figures. They were from Little Big Man Studios so they should be awesome.

The problem with this shield design is the decal has to be cut in half to go on each side of the shield boss. Well, once that was done, it was utterly fucking impossible for me to get the plastic cover off the decals without destroying the goddamn decal itself. So the whole fucking lot went in the bin. I can't believe how shit those decals were. So then I tried painting designs onto the shields. That would've turned out better if I got a drunk lobotomized chimp to do it. At this point one of the figs fell onto the floor and I honestly had to stop myself from just crushing it underfoot. I actually contemplated throwing the lot into the garbage.

So instead I just painted them a couple shades of white. Yuck.

The next set of six figures are metal fantasy figures. First up is a set of monsters.
The figure on the left is a two-headed troll from Reaper Miniatures. Nice figure, although I'm not thrilled on my green paint scheme. The other two figures are a pair of Violent Fungi from North Star Military Figures Frostgrave line.
These human figures from left to right are Hans Bullman from Reaper, Hercules also from Reaper and a Barbarian Chief from the North Star Frostgrave line.

Finally as I'm running a War of 1812 game at our "not Mayday" event this Saturday, I needed some deployment points.
I scrounged these from various bits I had laying around. The barrels I think I got from Michaels, the cannon balls are beads from a necklace, the logs are from an old Italeri set (I think) and the bases themselves were part of the sprue from some MDF set. They came together quite nicely but are obviously only for 54mm. Beside a 28mm figure, the barrels would be monstrous.

Ashigaru and More Frostgrave

It's been a slow month but I finally got a few figures completed. First up is a couple bases for my ongoing lifetime samurai project. These are metal figures from Kingsford Miniatures. This is a pair of Ashigaru skirmish archer bases.
I'm hoping to get a lot more of this project completed this year. My end goal is to have two samurai armies and an Ikko-Ikki army. I've got a couple more Ashigaru Teppo and a couple Samurai cavalry bases on my table then I'll probably switch to working on some Ikko-Ikki bases.

Next up is a collection of Frostgrave figures. Almost all of these are wizards and their apprentices. I'm sure I've got enough wizards to do at least a dozen warbands. I definitely don't need any more! Figures are all metal and are "official" Frostgrave figures.
First set (l to r) is a Beastcrafter and apprentice followed by an Elementalist and apprentice.
Second set (l to r) is a Soothsayer and apprentice followed by a Lich and apprentice.
The last pair of figures is a tunnel fighter and a trap expert.

Next on my paint table (as I stated above) is some Teppo and Samurai cavalry. It will probably be a number of weeks before I get these finished, although with the bloody weather being awful, there's not much incentive to go outside and do anything.

More French Vehicles & Fantasy Adventurers

Just the other day I finished up a number of French early-war vehicles. These are from a Kickstarter that Mad Bob Miniatures ran last year. The figures are all resin, but it's not the usual resin I'm used to dealing with. It's like a 3d-printed plastic. I'm not really a big fan of the material, I prefer conventual resin. First up is a Citroen Kegresse P19 staff car.

Next up is a Citroen Kegresse P19 25mm Portee.

Next is a Citroen Kegresse P104 armoured transport.

Next is a Somua MCG artillery tractor/troop transport. This vehicle is kind of big compared to all the others, which is odd.

Next up is a Panhard 179 armoured scout/transport.

And finally this is a Panhard 165/175 armoured car. This is my favourite vehicle of the lot. I'm kind of a sucker for the Panhard armoured cars.

Also this week, I completed a number of fantasy adventurers that will be used for Frostgrave. These figures are all metal and are from a Kickstarter run by Red Box Miniatures last year.

Next up on my paint table is some more early-war Germans and probably some more figures for Frostgrave.

Germans & Frostgrave

This week I've finished another small group of early-war Germans. First up is a set of metal German engineers from Black Tree Design.
The next pair of figures are a pair of metal Flamethrower troops, also from Black Tree Design.

And to round out my Germans is a 75mm light artillery piece from Warlord Games.

I also completed a few figures for Frostgrave. First up is a Celt Packmaster and hounds from Warlord Games
And lastly is a Wraith King from Reaper Miniatures.
Next up on my paint table is a bunch more adventurers for Frostgrave and probably some French vehicles.

Frostgrave Spellcasters

Tonight I finished up a group of figures for Frostgrave. I did all these figures up for Terry's Mayday game to give him a hand. All these figures are metal figures from Reaper Miniatures. There's 6 sets of wizards and apprentices. Wizards are on the left.

And lastly is the figure I'm using for a Captain. This is the metal Templar figure from the Frostgrave range.
Up next is the remaining figures for my Mayday game. That will be followed by some miscellaneous figures and then I'm throwing myself back into my World War II French infantry and vehicles.

Frostgrave Figures

Been a while. Recently I finished a group of 4 figures to be used for Frostgrave. All figures are from Reaper Miniatures and are all metal. First batch is a group of 4 adventurers. The figure in the middle I'm using as a Knight, the one on the right is a Thief and the left one I don't have a roll for him yet. I thought he was neat so I picked him up. It wasn't till I got him almost finished that I realized I had glued the shield on incorrectly. Oh well.
Next up is a large frost giant. I'm not a big fan of the stance, but I see what they were getting at. The figure was nice to paint up though and came together rather nicely. Pictures are crap like usual.

Four figures for this month is rather dismal. So hopefully I can step my game up as I'm really not doing very well this year.

On my paint table is still a couple units of hoplites (still!), some skirmish archers (completed and just need to be based) and a bunch of figures for my Mayday Sci-fi game.
