Samurai & Militia

Finished a couple more sets of figs in the past week. First group are 28mm metal Samurai. The samurai and teppo base are all from Kingsford Miniatures, the command base is from Steel Fist Miniatures. The figs are based up for Impetus and will definitely also see use once I get my hands on Commands and Colors Samurai Battles. First up is the samurai base.

Next up is the teppo base.

And finally is the command base. The mounted commander is Ishida Mitsunari, the losing general of the Battle of Sekigahara (with his head still attached).

The second batch of figs are for the French & Indian War. These 28mm metal figs are from Galloping Major Miniatures and are British Rangers/Backwoods Militia.

Samurai, a Troll and a Lady.

Sounds like a weird group just walked into a bar. But alas it isn't a joke, it's just a weird assortment of figs. The bulk of this post is the samurai figs.

These figs are all 28mm metal. The infantry are from Steel Fist Miniatures and the cavalry are from The Assault Group (TAG). First up is a base of ashigaru with yari.

I was originally going to do up a couple bases of teppo, but the Steel Fist teppo were just crap. They were not cast very well compared to my Kingsford figs. So they're sitting on a shelf right now and I'm debating whether to just grind through them painfully or just throw them out.

Next up is a base of samurai with yari.

And finally is a base of mounted warrior monks.

These were actually the first TAG miniatures I've ever painted. They're nice, clean well cast figs. I look forward to painting more of their figs.

Here is the lot all together:

Next up is a river troll from Games Workshop. Nice expressive fig with lots of character, really fun to paint.

And lastly is this lady from Sash and Saber's French and Indian War line.

'Til next time.

Samurai Cavalry

This past weekend as part of the Analogue Hobbies Paint Challenge, I finished up a trio of Samurai Cavalry bases. These figs are from a Steel Fist Miniatures Kickstarter they ran a few years ago.

These three bases will be the start of the second Samurai army. Hopefully I can move it along faster than the first army.

Also finished recently was this half-orc monk from Reaper Miniatures.

Sitting on my paint table right now is some Strange Aeons figures that I'm doing for a friend and a bunch of terrain pieces that I need to get done for my Mayday game.
