Last figs of 2021 - WW2 Assortment

The figs below are the last figs I had painted in 2021. These figs are all from Warlord Games. Start off with some plastic Soviet infantry.

Next up is wee little T-38 tankette. The model is sold by Warlord but is actually manufactured by Trenchworx.

And finally we have a T-34/76.

And a comparison shot with the two tanks.

Bit of a size difference.

And finally we have a German Panzerjager I tank destroyer.

And that should be the end for 2021. I'm planning on doing an end of year post either later today or tomorrow.

German WW2 MG 34 Teams

This is a quick short post. Recently finished up a pair of German early-war MG 34 teams, 'cause Germans need more bloody machineguns! These metal figs are from Warlord Games and are the last of my German units that I intend to paint.

Next on my paint table is a unit of British provincial infantry for F&IW.

World War 2 Assorted French

Finishing up the last of my World War 2 French. These figs are all 28mm metal from Warlord Games. First up is a 47mm anti-tank gun.

I noticed once I had flocked all the figures in this post that I had used the wrong flock. I've been using fine sand on my French stuff. Oh well!

Next up is a 105mm medium howitzer.

The figures for this one were kind of odd compared to all the other Warlord French. The figures just have a helmet and coat, nothing else. Every other figure in the range has assorted other gear. Kind of weird.

And lastly is the French casualty pack.

Russian Vehicles & Dinosaurs

Finished a few more items up yesterday. First up is a pair of early war Russians vehicles. Both of these are resin with metal bits and are from Warlord Games. First is the FAI light armoured car.

Next is a BT-7 light tank.

Next up is a pair of dinosaurs. These plastic figs are from WizKids Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures line. First up is the T-Rex followed by the Triceratops.

My copy of Stargrave has arrived, so I'll be finishing up the figs I do have on my table right now and then I'm going to be working on a pile of terrain for Stargrave.

Russian Infantry

Finished the last of the World War 2 Russian Infantry. These 28mm metal figs are from Black Tree Design.

There's nothing special about these figs, they're just basic riflemen.

And finally there is the sniper, Lady Death. This fig is from Warlord Games.

I've also picked up some more boardgames recently.

So I like GMT apparently.

Anywho, on the paint table is some Counterblast figs that will pretty much get used for Stargrave, I have a couple Soviet vehicles that I want to get done and some monsters I'd like to get done soon.

More Russians and On Mars

Finished another batch of Russian riflemen. These 28mm metal figs are from Black Tree Design.

I've still got another 8 of these guys sitting and waiting for paint. I can actually churn these guys out pretty fast.

Next is a Russian BA-64. This resin fig is from Army Group North Miniatures. Quick and easy to paint up. I didn't have any Russian decals, in the future if I get some I can always add them.

I've also had a request to post up some more boardgame stuff. So here's a game that I finally got to the table lately. 

I'm a big Vital Lacerda fan, add Mars to that and I'm sold. My copy was from the Kickstarter so has all the trimmings. And this game, like a few others of Lacerda's, got the Eagle-Gryphon Games treatment, so nice big box, spots for everything and a nice cover so it doesn't all bounce around. Eagle-Gryphon also did both Lisboa (perfection!) and The Gallerist, which I both have and they have the same type of thing.

In this game you're trying to expand the colony on Mars. All players are working to expand the one colony with their own modules. So in this game you have some resource collection, base building and expanding your own technology. All of this adds up to points at the end of game. Basically on your turn you're going to do an action and maybe an auxiliary action to get you towards your goal.

The game is a little more complicated than The Gallerist but not as complicated as Lisboa. The board has no text on it, it's all icons, so that can be daunting. I found a good reference pdf on BGG that I printed for the players. But overall, once you know what everything does it's just a matter of figuring out what the heck you're going to do.

The component quality is top tier, the box is beautiful, the instructions are colourful and easy to read. It could use a better player aid. I think it's an excellent game, not as good as Lisboa but better than CO2, Vinhos or Escape Plan, probably on par with The Gallerist.

Figure Assortment

As the Analogue Hobbies Paint Challenge is nearing it's end (3 weeks left), I've been feverishly painting pretty much anything that I can do up quickly. So this batch is a fair assortment of figures. First up is this World War 2 German HQ pack. These 28mm metal figs are from Warlord Games.

Probably don't need more officers, I've probably got 1 officer for every 2 riflemen by now.

Next up is this group of Soviets. These 28mm metal figs are from Black Tree Design. The two on the left are flamethrower crew and other two are officers.

And finally there is this group of Terminators. These 28mm plastic figs were from Warlord Games' Terminator Genisys game. I'll probably be able to use them for some pulp sci-fi or they might find their way into the upcoming Stargrave somehow.

A Sphinx and Some Tanks

Here's my first figs of the year. First fig is a Reaper Bones Miniature.

And next is a pair of Panzer IVs. These resin figs are from Warlord Games.

Early War Russians

Finished some more early World War 2 Russians. These 28mm figs are from Plastic Soldier Company and are the Infantry Heavy Weapons box. First up are two teams of AT rifles.

Next is a pair of AT rifles going for a walk.

Next up are four machinegun teams. I failed to notice that on the two walking teams both of the figs are supposed to be pulling the gun. I made them so that only one of them is and the other guy is holding his arm behind him in moral support I guess?

Next is a pair of 50mm and 82mm mortar team.

I should hopefully have one more post before the end of the year.
